accomplishments

WOW!!! Today was the day for accomplishments Princess pie made Two new achievements. First she was able to figure out how to maneuver her tricycle!! We tried to manage it earlier this summer but coordinating hands, feet and vision proved to be too much, so we left the trikes in the yard and ignored them. From time to time she would try and get frustrated and allow herself to be redirected elsewhere. However, today, she kept going from trike to trike until she got one to work the way she wanted. My yard is less than flat and the lawn grows in thatches so it is very bumpy and therefor very difficult to negotiate. Today was determination day!! Upon discussing it with Chantmeister we are agreed that since we added the trampoline to the yard toys she has had a marked increase in strength and coordination. At the play ground there is this cork screw like ride you climb up it or board from the platform and then spiral down. Up until today she has always been afraid to get on it herself from the platform. however she has grown in strength and in length so she's stronger and has better reach. So today she climbed up to the platform and hopped onto the corkscrew and spiraled down all by herself all the while calling out "look at me besta I did it" She was so filled with delight at her accomplishments for the day it was such a treat to be with her feeling all smart and confident. Her mom and I decided that we really want to do whatever it takes for her to hang on to that delicious self confidence that is so rare in young girls today.

Painting out this Orange is proving to be a chore

well here we are at the middle of our restful, relaxing staycation, thoroughly enjoying ourselves. The whether is not to cooperative but the house is looking better than it has in a while, in spite of the fact that the project room has moved into my bedroom.
Princess pie is growing so fast she is now the length of the whole bathtub. It's time to open the toddler bed so that it is a twin bed. Right now her feet touch one end and her head touches the other and she is only three. As such the project room is now in process of being converted to a little girls room to afford her a place to play and store her too much stuff.

I reluctantly admit that I have a tendency toward excess but some how manage to convince myself that I am a minimalist. The human ability for self deceit is truly amazing. I will often times muse at others as I observe how their self perception varies so widely from who they present. All the time thinking At Least I KNOW Who I AM. It is never long before I find another incongruant behavior of my own. It is alleged that if you know about behaviors they can be corrected. I have not yet devised how to do that successfully. Well enough of my seemingly endless flaws. Back to the story at hand. When I saw the Johnson family's blog illustrating their marvelous playroom I was inspired to improve the play area in our house. Princess pie's room is truly tiny, ideal for a baby, but wholly insufficient for a little girl. So the reorganizing process has begun it is a huge task but will be well worth it when it's completed
